| hayabusa:PROJECTWork has now commenced on the second frame kit model from BFO Motorcycles. This as yet untitled motorcycle follows a similar principle to the switch:BLADE, and will again feature a welded tubular aluminium frame and swingarm, full carbon fibre bodywork, machined accessories, and a selection of the finest aftermarket components available. | The Hayabusa DiaryThis site will be the first point of call for all the latest hayabusa:PROJECT news. Check back regularly and follow the design process of a brand new motorcycle from start to finish. | 2007 - SeptemberWe begin. A donor motorcycle has been identified.
The first step - strip it down and decide which parts to keep. This will happen over the next month, in order to prepare the motorcycle to be fully inspected on sophisticated measuring equipment so that the frame geometry can be determined.
Initial styling sketches and concepts will be put together, and there is every possibility of a sneak preview at the 2007 International Motorcycle and Scooter Show. | 2007 - OctoberThe hayabusa:PROJECT comes to life. Illustrated by leading stylist John Keogh, the second motorcycle frame kit from BFO Motorcycles gains an identity. It is hoped that John will continue to work on the project, thus following on from his earlier work on the switch:BLADE.
The illustration below is exactly that - an illustration. The specification of the hayabusa:PROJECT will be similar to that of the switch:BLADE, i.e. all aluminium frame and swinging arm, carbon fibre bodywork throughout, and lots of precision machined parts.
Our aim now is to make a bike that looks like the illustration - with a single sided swinging arm (although this is likely to be an optional extra), an underseat exhaust, and styling every bit as good as what you see here.

The outline specification will be very similar to that of the switch:BLADE, but in addition there will be a carbon fibre fairing as illustrated, and the under seat exhaust unit will be included.
These changes are likely to mean that the hayabusa:PROJECT is likely to be slightly more expensive than the switch:BLADE, but the first 20 people to place a deposit on the Hayabusa:PROJECT will be unnaffected by this.
We also have a name now, but this will not be revealed until shortly before the launch.
